When Cataclysm arrives, thousands of players will be dusting off their old characters and logging on to check out the new game material. The realms will be packed and leveling will be come a hassle. So, here are some great tips to get to level 85 quickly.
Don't get left behind!
Since the servers will be packed with players, it will be an opportune time to get into the random dungeon finder queue. It is highly likely that you will be able to find a group very quickly as there will be other players queuing simultaneously too.
As you might already know, running dungeons is a very fast way to rack up experience points and gain loot that will enhance your character's abilities quickly. Dungeon loot that you can't use can be sold for a fine price in the Auction House. All you need to do to get into the Dungeon queue is to press 'i' and join a random dungeon for your level.
Cataclysm dungeon leveling has been made much easier and lucrative for all players. Besides the special gear you get for completing a random dungeon, you will be able to get more bonus experience points from running dungeon quests. The dungeon quest giver will be station at the dungeon entrances.
As good practice, remember to free your bags for loot space before you start raiding. You will also want to bring enough food and water in case your group chooses to stick together and continue raiding through the night. It is also a good idea to station your character near a vendor or bank, so that you can teleport out of the dungeon for emergency supplies or loot storing.
Don't forget to prepare any of your characters for dungeon raiding. Ensure that your raiding spells and abilities that have an Area of Effect (AoE), group buffing abilities and crowd control spells are ready in your action bars.
The talent trees and glyphs are reset with the Cataclysm update, so do visit your trainer to retrain your characters. There will be new spells to learn and talent points to allocate. Your glyphs will be deactivated, so you'll need to reassign them to your character again.
If you're choosing to level up a new Worgen, Goblin or any other brand new character, the path to 85 could take ages. To take advantage of the sheer numbers of people playing in the game and the dungeon leveling system, you should opt to play a tank or healer. This will ensure that your character will get into the dungeons much faster than a damage dealer.
